Panoramic Photo of Hanauma Bay State Park, Island of O'ahu, Hawaii
Nestled in the southeast coast of the Hawaiian Island of O'ahu, Hanauma Bay State Park is a gorgeous bay, filled with coral reefs and abundant sea-life. The shallow water reefs which show up in the photo as darker formations, are home to over 400 species of fish, as well as sea turtles, and other wildlife. From my own personal experience there, Hanauma Bay is one of the most incredible places to go snorkeling. There are so many fish that you will feel like you are swimming inside the fish tank at an aquarium.
Wildlife - Parrot Fish, Coral Reefs, and Cats Fighting Mongooses
By the time we left the state park, I had done so much swimming that I felt like a fish. My favorite fish was the barnacle crunching, beaked parrot fish which I followed around and swam with as it ate barnacles off of the reef with its hard, sharp beak mouth. Outside of the water, the wildlife was interesting as well. There is a large pack of stray cats, (all of which looked healthy, happy, and large), that were sunbathing next to the hillside. The cats were actively defending any food from the trash cans against another pack of animals... mongooses! One of the people who worked at the park said that they regurally have territory battles or will fight over food. Tough kitty!
As I am growing with the Steemit community, and loving it more and more every day, I've decided to worry less about posting pictures of myself. That being said, here is an extra photo from that day of me and my wife drinking rum at Hanauma, in the true pirate spirit of the island life! Arrrrrghhhh!!

What is the 365 Day Photo Challenge?
Getting started on Steemit can be hard! And as much as I try to write, sometimes it can be hard to come up with an idea. I thought a good way that I could be consistent, and post my own content every day, would be to share at least one of my photos, and write a little about it for the next 365 days.
