Merewether Ocean Baths - Australia

A foggy morning on the East Coast of Australia. My expectations for a good sunrise were not high as visibility was quite low and rain seemed imminent. Yet through the mist rose a ball of fire over the horizon, breathing life into the landscape.

Whoever had gate 3 winning... they would have won! haha
What are those things?

They are starting blocks for swimming. To dive off :)

Oh an ocean infinity pool... cool

Very beautiful shot :) feels like foam :)

Thanks! Glad you like it

Nice mate. The fog adds a softness to the sunrise which I think makes the photo. Its a beautiful part of the world not far from where I used to live. Hope life is well.

Thanks! Life's good. It's about 40 degrees Celsius in Melbourne today!

Yes I saw there were lots of fires about the place also. I don't miss Jan in oz.

Still a pretty awesome shot! Out of curiosity, why are those numbered?

They are diving blocks for swimming. To signify which lane the swimmers are in just like an Olympic swimming pool.

Well done, Keiran.
Love the Long exposure.

Thank you very much!

:o Its stunning, I love the soft glow of the sun poking above the horizon.

Thanks! Glad you like it :)

Awesome picture @kieranstone !

Was there much processing needed to get that to look so good ?

Not too much. It was just the timing of the water flowing over which didn't happen every wave.

So the tide renews the water a couple times a day? That's a cool concept! Great photo, too!

Thanks! There's heaps of these pools along the east coast. Very popular with drone photography

I was meant to be in Australia by now ... but plans changed and I found myself in the Sahara desert.. and now I am seeing pictures of Australia just because of this beautiful photo contest Idea .. I love this fair little game : = ) thank youuu all

That's a big change of plans! Which part of the Sahara? I've been to the Moroccan part

omg me too ! :D we arrived in Marakesh and went with a little van and 14 others cross the atlas mountains to zagora.. we made some stops before spending a night with the berber peoples :=)
I ve put my moroco trip video to dtube if you want to have a look :D

Great photo @keiranstone! Makes me a tiny bit sentimental about Newcastle. Have you ever been out to Caves Beach (south of Newcastle - near Swansea) to do sunrise photos? I've had a go there, but I reckon you'd do a much better job of it! In mid-winter the sunrise goes straight into the main cave - but you need the tide to be low enough to get a good spot, so it's tricky.

I haven't had a lot of time on the Central Coast area. It's a place I wouldn't mind being able to spend some time at. Last time I was there I was running a workshop so I didn't get to capture my own photos :)

That shot is pure perfection and timelessness. Thanks for posting

Thank you very much!

Great action!

Damn. They are amazing photos. All the power and beauty of the water structure are really shown in your shots. Keep it up, I would love to see more post coming from you. Followed.
