hi guys,
The picture i'm sharing with you guys today is part of a picture series i recently got to make as an assignment for my visual arts class. For this assignment i chose to work around the theme "Negative self-image & Dark thoughts" for the sole reason that i myself deal with these feelings / thoughts on a daily basis.
The picture was made the same day the first snow in Belgium began to fall. Which is awesome because the snow transformed this otherwise "boring" landscape into a cold moody picture perfect scene that added this extra element to the picture i really like. :)
Camera: Nikon D5200
Lens: Nikkor 18-55mm @20mm
Aperture: F8
Shutter: 1/125 (+Tripod)
Location: Genk C-mine (Belgium)

Thanks for the advise! :)
u're welcome
I really love the melancholic vibe in this photograph! As @bethlynn says, you can see it as something beautiful, being alone in such a beautiful place. But i do get the feeling you try to give with this one. I think it's more a mixture of them both: because of the dark thoughts, you like to isolate yourself in this beautiful landscape giving you feelings of inner peace and rest. :) Would love to see more amazing work of you!
You describe the message behind the photograph perfectly! I appreciate your comment a lot! :) Love to see more work of you too!
I'm glad I got it right. :) Thank you! You'll definitely will. ;)
Perhaps its my introvertedness speaking, but i dont find this negative at all. Being alone in a place that beautiful would be heaven to me... especially with the crisp, crunchy sound of snow beneath my feet.
I've been waiting for this crisp, crunchy sound of snow for years now :o So when the first snow finally started to fall i was so happy i was there to take this picture.
Thanks for commeting on my post :)
