The Lake District, like the name suggests is an area in the north of England full of lakes, but it also boasts some of the highest mountains in the UK and some really pretty villages. It is an English National Park.
The area is so beautiful and unique that it was recently added to the UNESCO World Heritage list.
This is great news as it means more tourists will come and enjoy the Lake District, but it also means more conservation efforts will be done and the area will be saved and well looked after for many
generations to come.
