Coastal landscape from the Great Ocean Road

in #landscapephotography7 years ago (edited)

Cruising the unique and stunning southern coastline of the state Victoria in Australia. Hitting the touristy hotspots that this region is known for, which by far one of the main one is the Great Ocean Road

Something to keep in mind though if you ever plan on heading down to this part of the world

The 12 apostles and other major landmarks on the Great Ocean road is quite a drive from Melbourne. Spend the night somewhere down the road a bit - there are a tonne of small, beautiful towns along the way - Lorne & Apollo Bay just to name a few. You can do it in one day BUT it will be a very, very long day. Somewhere around the 12 hour mark to say the least. So why not take your time and simply enjoy a beautiful part of the world at a slower more relaxed pace...??

“Once wedded to Nature there is no divorce - separate her you may and hide yourself amongst the flesh-pots of London, but the wild will keep calling and calling forever in your ears. You cannot escape the ‘little voices’.”

Such a stunning coast line, I was there years ago in 2001 absolutely breathtaking, Nature at its raw and most rugged best!

Its a pleasure to watch sir.

Changes in weather and cloud fronts always provide such stunning and dramatic light. Great job capturing it in this exposure! Makes me want to go there.

-Congratulations and great photo-

Thank you! I greatly appreciate the selection - I am honoured :)

How many apostles are left now? Beautiful part of the world. My family used to spend our Summer holidays in Apollo Bay. The road used to scare me as a kid, thinking we would fall off the cliffs.

I honestly didn't count. I think its around 6 or so... We actually stayed at Apollo Bay when we cruised down that way.

I feel pretty blessed to live close to GOR.
