My story about Latvia environment-This is not an exaggeration - Latvia really stands out intact or inadequately affected by human activity, and green tourism opportunities are quite real. Walking in the woods, bird watching, photomontage and real hunting, fishing, boating, etc. Where to spend time elsewhere, if not in Latvia!
Latvian traditions.
Folklore and traditions
Latvia can boast a rich folklore heritage that has survived to the present day. Although Latvians belong to Christians, pagan traditions still exist in the nation, and we celebrate the feasts, as did our ancestors many centuries ago. One of the most popular holidays in Latvia is the summer solstice on June 23 and 24 - Līgo day and Jāņi. They are celebrated not only in every country village and in the country, but also in city squares, parks and embankments. On the hill there is a midsummer bonfire, the Midsummer's Grass, the Frozen Meadow, and the housewives cherished in the meadows, with a special festive meal - Midsummer Cheese.
Also, the Winter Solstice is a time when we remember the pagan traditions - pulling on a fun puddle boat and then burning it to get rid of all the unemployed during the year.
We sing songs, we dance joy and let us play innocuous games.
In February, we celebrate the Metenes, but on Easter, we paint the eggs and egg battles to find out which of them is the most durable.
Cultura and sports achievements.
A high-performance sport for Latvians has always been more than just a national and local competition. For Latvia as a geographically and demographically small country, the significance and philosophy of sport can be found in the history of the country, enthusiastic athletes, patriotism, and also in the interest of the people in the current sport sector.
There has been a great and significant achievement in Latvian sports in different periods on both the big sports world scene and the local scale. Athletes have been able to win important medals in various sports and tournament cups and prizes. This is evidenced by a large collection of documents, sports programs, as well as video and audio testimonies. Over time, a great source of history has been photography and periodicals. After the sports events, posters and posters, albums have been saved. A significant testimony to sports history is sporting equipment, clothing, attributes. As a rule, awards are held by the athletes themselves, at sports clubs and clubs, but when this is not possible or athletes want to make their achievements accessible to any interested person, the state sports agency "Latvijas Sporta muzejs", the only state of such profile, becomes the owner of the significant sports cultural heritage.
