RE: Can You Trademark a Steem Hashtag?

in #law • 7 years ago

Alright, noted sorry for mentioning you Gmuxx, I'll add you to my no fly list! 😉 Thank You for acknowledging that I respected the pull request. You're the first person that expressed appreciation. I never intended to ruffle feathers and tables turned me being a new user to the platform you to ought too be able to see my point of view. I was not aware of unexpressed usage restrictions.

My post above is not a declaration of war, LoL - cease fire!

The following is a parody to help shed more light on the issue. Yes it's in jest - I honestly do not care.

#thewritersblock

The usage of hashtags on my posts that I do not approve of is not in my self interest and as such, please remove your tag from this post.

Can you not see how this looks to other people? A post that I worked hard to build.

I can now see how wrong I was to write such a glowing review of your product.

If you can't see how this is wrong then I have nothing more to say to you.

Sorry about hurt feelings, @gmuxx Just calling it like I see it. In-groups will always hate the "Gadfly." Your desire to remove your review of my product once again showcases how deep rooted the mentality is. A problem that is not just here on Steemit, it is human condition, and as such, it is something that we all struggle with, myself included. I'm not better than the next guy. However, I do feel an obligation to stand up for Truth and at least question the things that I feel are wrong. Again, sorry, but many are often too scared to give honest criticism.

I have heard it said,

Critics are your best friends. Unless they criticize in a manner that causes you to feel totally devastated...

I hope this has not done so - it's was not intention.

I think he was expressing the opposite of appreciation. I'm in the same boat, it makes a post seem like spam mail by tagging people you have no relative interaction with prior.

To address tagging, it was relative because of prior engagements from all those users listed. Everyone on that list had directly engaged with the prior post about HastyMarkup. It is only natural that I would want to foster engagement for a brand that I am working on by asking the very people that had shown interest.

And whatever organic engagement you may have created has since decided it wants nothing more to do with you or your product. A simple 'oops, my bad' would have sufficed, instead you decided to create drama. Great job.
