The Essentials Qualities of A Good Leader

The success of a certain group or organization relies on each member. If one person messed up, it will affect the overall performance of a group. It's what we call Domino Effect. Each member is essential to the success and growth of an organization. So, in order to make sure that things are well-planned, well-organized and well-executed, there should be a leader who would responsibly stand up and guide everyone on their duties.

What makes someone a good leader?

First, it is important that a leader have experienced becoming a member once in his life. He must start from the bottom in order to understand how things are done. He must experience becoming a mere member in order to understand their side, their sentiments and their job's level of difficulty. A leader has to be compassionate. He has to understand that his task is to guide and motivate his members and not to dictate them. He must not be rude instead he must be sensitive to his member's needs. He has to put himself on his member's shoes to better understand them.

Second, a leader should be passionate on his craft. The members would feel if the leader lacks interest and commitment to his job. As a result, it would demotivate them to do their respective jobs. If you want to see good results, you have to put your best foot forward at all times. It's not an easy job, I know. But being a leader has never been easy.

Third, a leader must have a goal. In order to create the best results possible, you need to have a vision...a goal of what you want to achieve for your team. A leader must be goal-driven and you need to work hard with your team to achieve your goals. It shouldn't remain a plan. You have to make it happen.

Fourth, LISTEN. Your members might have better ideas than you. Their ideas might be the key to the success of your team. Never feel bad if they present you better ideas because you are in a team and not in a competition. You have the same goal. So, it is important that you listen and listen and listen. You don't have to always do what they say. You are a leader, so it's your job to consider their ideas, analyze them and think about the possible results.

Lastly, INSPIRE. Your members can be the next leader of your group or another organization. Inspire them to become a good leader like you. Set a good example. Show them how it should be done. Our society needs more good leaders nowadays. We need a compassionate, goal-driven and a good-listener type of leader. We need more leaders who are tough yet has a soft spot for his fellowmen. In order to achieve that, if you're a leader, be an inspiration. You don't know how big of a help that is to our society.

These are very true. In return you would get loyalty from your people which cannot be purchased. Love your people and your people will take care of your business. Hurtful words like "The business would run with or without you! " this would not help and would feel like a threat for your people. Sad to say there are a lot of leaders out there who doesn't know the essentials of a good leader. I said too much 😂. Cheers!
