OPTIMIZING YOUR LEARNING SERIES: TIME MANAGEMENT

in #learninglast year (edited)

What is time? We often use the word “time’ more frequently than we think. On an average day, many people use the word "time" a lot. It's a common word used in a wide range of contexts, from discussing schedules and plans to talking about the passage of time itself. People might mention "time" when discussing appointments, deadlines, time management, historical events, or even when making casual conversations. A lot of people regard time as the 24hrs in a day that we each get, but then, what is time?

In our practical lives, we measure time using various units such as seconds, minutes, hours, days, months, and years. These help us to quantify the duration between events and provide a common framework for communication and coordination. Basically, from all of these, what I am trying to say is that time is very important to us all, and like I would always say, “time is the one thing that everyone equally has”. We all get 24hrs fair and square and the one thing that I’m sure of is that there is always time, and time only seem longer or shorter based on how each one of us handles and manages it. This leads me to my next question.

What does it mean to manage one’s time?
Just like every other thing in our lives that needs to be managed so that we can conserve, save and use it efficiently, from money to resources; time is one great factor in man’s life that needs to be properly guarded and managed.

Time management refers to effectively utilizing and organizing one's time to achieve specific goals, tasks, and activities while maintaining a balance between various commitments. It involves making conscious decisions about how to allocate limited time to different activities to maximize productivity, efficiency, and personal well-being.

How we manage our time is crucial as it determines a whole lot of factors in our lives. Time management is beneficial to both our health and general success at large, and when our time is being properly managed, we get to see that we have more time than we think that we do. Oftentimes, we complain that we don’t have time. Then, we go further ahead to compare ourselves to other people and say things like,” Why is Victor doing so well in his career, it seems like though I am just struggling to catch up, where does he get all the time to do all of this stuff and still get the time to have fun. In contrast, I can’t even seem to finish just one task in a day?”. The truth is we all have the same 24hrs that Victor gets, but then there’s still this one question. How does Victor get to do a whole lot? Well, the simple and straight answer is that, Victor knows how to manage his time efficiently so that he can be effective and successful in all that he does. So then, how can you and I manage our time?

To manage time, one has to be willing to use and practice some important techniques such as Time Auditing, The Eisenhower's matrix, Calendaring and planning your time appropriately, Time blocking, The "Not-to-do" list and many other techniques.

In conclusion, it is very essential that we all learn the ability to use our time efficiently and effectively in order to achieve our set goals and also promote good health and guarantee success.

Till Next Time! Much Love❤️
