I wish I had learned foreign languages in my childhood. Most of the children around the world learn one or two languages at the most. As a result, they will not be able to communicate properly with others as easily as they wish to.
Earlier, there was not much need for learning foreign languages other than English. However, the world is now a global village and people travel around the world much more easily and even settle down in any country they wish to or are comfortable with and language is a barrier.
Thanks to the internet, there are several apps to download and start learning a language right away. Language learning is not only helpful but can also keep our minds active and brains fresh. One of the most famous language-learning apps is Duo Lingo. It has a free version and a paid version. You can start using the free version immediately and if you like how it works, you can opt for the paid version.
Some people may argue that Duo Lingo does not teach a language comprehensively but a language student must also try to learn from other sources like student worksheets, watching language-based videos, reading short stories, etc, and then advance. Duo Lingo is a very reliable app and thousands are using it daily. They have not paid me to write this but I thought that they deserved a shout-out.

Which language would you like to learn? Besides English, Spanish is a very popular choice. Learning Chinese Mandarin is probably the most difficult language in the world.
India is home to a lot of different languages but I sometimes read comments by foreign nationals stating that they do not know Indi. Indi is not a language and although Hindi is spoken in a lot of northern states in India, it is not in the south but people get by because almost everyone knows English. So, it is easier to communicate well. Why is Hindi not spoken in the south? Well, for once, it is not the 'Mathru bhasha' and people use their respective local languages to communicate with each other. Times are changing and nowadays people are learning new languages.
I too had a similar interest of learning a foreign language. And downloaded the Duo Lingo app for the same. My attempt was for learning the German language, since I had heard it is similar to English language, so a bit on the easier side.
Alas ! it got missed in the busy routine. May be I'll think of revisiting it again
