Lensy is 1 month old today! Lensy is the first ever site exclusively for NFT Photography, and since this is an emerging market, we are still a work in progress. We have added a few features since launching and wanted to let you all know about them!
New Categories for Stock and Fine Art Photography
There are now two different categories to select for photos that will help buyers filter the gallery and improve the browsing experience. In the future there will be an option on the frontpage for stock photography and Fine Art photography to be displayed separately.
Stock Photography
Stock photography is the supply of photographs which are often licensed for specific uses. - Wikipedia.
When selecting this option, the rights of the token will be by default set to full commercial as the whole nature of a stock photo is for it to be to be used for commercial purposes. They are perfect for marketing and advertising, promotional work, personal or commercial creative projects, publishing, websites and blogs, and more.
Fine Art Photography
is photography created in line with the vision of the photographer as artist, using photography as a medium for creative expression. The goal of fine-art photography is to express an idea, a message, or an emotion. - Wikipedia
In this category you will be able to choose for private or full commercial rights, we are expecting more high-quality photos in this.
Changes to All Photos Minted Previous to the Categories Update
The category selection is done while minting and as you know after already tokenining there is no way to edit so right now the tokens already minted are not categorized. We can update the category on already minted photos as this is a front-end specific change, you can go to our Discord Server on the Help Channel, drop a link and let us know your category and we will manage the change.
Filters and Searches
Right now in the Gallery page a user or buyer can filter by Price, Rights, Category (stock or Fine Art) and oldest or newest.
We welcome feedback on improvements to this!
Unlockables
Unlockables allow you to add additional files that only your buyers can access. This could be a higher resolution file or a Raw version of the photo you tokenize.
There are two types of unlockables File or Text, you can choose one or the other. This can be done after you mint when visiting your collection page. It can also be added to an already minted piece, you will need to delist, add the unlockable and relist for sale.
You will have a visible indication in the form of an icon next to the number of editions under the Photo to indicate that there is an unlockable item available, but keep in mind that if you want to advertise that yourself in the description you need to do it while minting, since after you can’t edit the description of the token.
File
You can directly upload JPEG, PNG, GIF, MP4 or PDF.
Text
You can simply add any text or even links in here, in the case of links we can NOT control what is added or scan it for safety, so we suggest you only open any links that know are safe this is something that will be at your own risk.
If the photographer wants to include a self-hosted link (dropbox, mega.nz etc.) that exceeds 100 MB, a file type not listed above such as a .vox, or a youtube link to an unlisted youtube video for example they can use this option.
Again, we cannot be responsible for what is linked here so only open any links at your own risk!
Referral system
We have designed a referral system that takes nothing from the photographer’s pocket.
How it works: if you refer someone and they login using your referral link for the first time, you will get a bonus directly sent to your wallet for each photo they tokenize. This bonus comes directly from the minting fees. The referred photographer will pay the same fee as always and we are giving up a portion of that to the referrer as a thank you!
We hope this encourages photographers to onboard more quality peers!
Structure:
There is currently no way to get your unique referral link but that will be added later, you can make the link using:

Secondary Market Royalties
With the current fee structure Lensy takes a 10% commission fee on the first sale and when something is sold on the secondary market the fee will be split 5% for Lensy and 5% for the original photographer who will get a notification of secondary sales.

Now you should be able to browse, tokenize, etc. from mobile.
Login
Smart Lock
Is our version of PeakLock (from PeakD) to allow easy login for mobile users (it can be use on desktop as well) this way buying and selling on Lensy is easy and possible for all.
How to use Smart Lock
When you are logging in for the first time (from mobile or desktop) and you choose the smart lock option, you will need to add your hive account with your active key.
You will then be prompted to make a 5-digit pin, so you can login next time using this instead of your active key.

Social Features
Trying to improve as much as possible our user experiences we now have
Our Own Avatar System for Lensy
Before we were using the profile pictures of your Hive account as a profile picture on Lensy, now you will have a generic image as your profile picture and you can change by editing your profile and uploading whatever image you like.
Curated Follow Feed
When you visit a user’s profile or browse photos there is now a follow button, by clicking follow you will add them to your feed which can be found on your personal page! This should help greatly improve your content discovery and ensure you don't miss out when your favorite photographer mints new photos!
