I awoke today to see that wLEO was trading for 99.9% less than it was yesterday.
OOPS
I sure hope some hacker didn't exploit the pool! Or even worse exit-scam! Yikes!.
Ah well apparently that's exactly what happened. Someone figured out how to exploit our contract and create free wLEO and drain the ETH out of the pool. I've talked about this scenario at least 3 times, so there really is no surprise from my end, only disappointment.
Kinda reminds me of when Justin Sun was trying to hostile-takeover this place. We coded circles around him. Well, if we enter the Ethereum network those guys are going to code circles around us, unfortunately.
I hear the LEO dev team was able to stem the bleeding by printing out of bunch of LEO themselves, draining the last 100 ETH out of the pool. IIRC, that's only about one fifth of the pool meaning around 400 ETH was stolen.
This is a pretty big setback for me, but even more for the rest of the LEO network. We've lost all our liquidity and are now left is a super awkward situation when it comes to onboarding ETH users via MetaMask and the like.
I'll probably have to post about this again when more information surfaces.
Dark day for LEO :(
RIP wLEO
The only way to resurrect it is with a decentralized solution now.
That's rough, hopefully it will bounce back!
If the price goes back up then this is some extra earnings for delegators as they get their delegation rewards as leo.
Exactly why chains like wanchain will help solve this issue with true decentralised Defi. Massively cheap at the moment, the risks of vapourware are high though.

Pretty sad turn of events :(
Pretty unexpected day indeed! On the other hand, I should say it was a nice opportunity to get hands on some cheap LEO. In fact, noticed some folks grabbing that small window on Hive-Engine (Got myself some LEO as well). While the team and Khal have proven their commitment towards the LEO tribe, in coming I suppose we shall be on the bull run for once again.

Man, this is really sad to see.
I've read pretty much every post of yours about Leo and I got so into it, albeit having no stake in it what so ever. The work that has been put into it and to get this outcome..
I really hope recovery from this is possible, I still want to believe in this, even if my understanding of DeFi, and wLEO by extension, it is still all very fascinating to me.
I see that some people are already putting blame on the creator, suggesting an exit scam I suppose. To an extend I suppose we can't really say for sure that it's not, but I want to believe it isn't. At least the impression I've gotten, is that some people have worked really hard for this project to succeed. Doing an exit scam this early seem like a really silly move. But again, what do I know..
Even with the loses, I hope people haven't completely lost faith and I'm looking forward to your post about it when more details are known!
Keep up the good work!
That bad timing really really sucks. Hopefully khal comes with a solution soon.
Sorry for your loss in the pool buddy.
Stay safe.

that sucks...
A dark day for LEO and the entire community :(
Luckily people have a short memory.
If people get a fair deal of this and if we raise the price by scooping leo from HE order book we'll be back on the horse in no time.
