Twitter Profitability

in #leofinance2 years ago

Twitter has a profitability problem.
Microtransactions, love them or hate them, are a great way for companies to siphon money out of user activity.
They already introduced an experimental limited trial of their tipping system using mostly USD.
If Musk completes the twitter acquisition, I doubt he'd shut down a feature like that with its promise of $$$.
Adding additional currency options (like Doge) to that existing experimental system doesn't add much risk - it's not even a major financial risk because it's "money for nothing" and entirely optional user-driven anyway. So there's not a really good reason against doing it, it's more if he cares enough to bother
If he didn't care about the things he was doing, he never would have been able to make these companies work and survive in the first place
If it was purely about money he would have given up when his companies were on the brink of failure, and when the richest people in the world were telling him (openly at lunches) that what he was trying to do would never make money
I'm sorry but cynical money oriented businessman and Elon Musk don't line up for me
Musk isn't stupid. He's shown a number of times that he's his own creature and can act in ways that appear strange to others at times - but which apparently align with his own worldview just fine.
