We must live in a simulation because this timeline has become one big meme... President-elect Donald Trump announced on Tuesday that two of his most vocal supporters, Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, will lead the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
What will DOGE exactly do can only be explained in the words of Trump,
Together, these two wonderful Americans will pave the way for my Administration to dismantle Government Bureaucracy, slash excess regulations, cut wasteful expenditures, and restructure Federal Agencies,” Trump said. “It will become, potentially, ‘The Manhattan Project’ of our time.”
If you’re wondering why you’ve never heard of this department before, it’s because it doesn’t exist. In fact it likely not even going to be a department because executive departments can only be established by Congress. It seems like this is going to be presidential advisory commission or task force to offer guidance. I don't think Elon wants to go through the vetting process to form aa actual department either.
At first glance, this seems like a joke with its acronym and the ironic nature that a commission looking for government inefficiency and waste requires not one but two co-chairs. The Fact that this is part of Trump’s existing plan to decimate the federal workforce is wild. He has only offered vague details so I'm skeptical this is more than a front. I'm just sitting back with my popcorn waiting to watch the house burn down at this point.
The only thing I know is there is likely to be a lot of volatility ahead so out on your trader caps and get ready!

It’s a mixed bag…. I’d say it’s 50/50… but the people who do not like Donald Trump are very vocal about it …. At the same time our own Liberal / Government Prime Minister Trudeau is very unpopular.
There is a shift to the Conservative/ Right here in Canada with people unhappy about immigration, high inflation and large Government and high taxes … Many of the Trump/Musk Policies would be welcomed here in some areas of Canada. Mostly rural Canada where people want the Government to be downsized or completely removed from our daily lives.
