With the lasting confinement, many workplaces have changed. But with the new workplace, the new challenges appeared obvious to people uncustomed to this new, unconventional setup.
Adjusting to working 100% remotely for the first time is just as a pain in the ass as doing a completely new job. We are all more comfortable at home, but staying productive long-term is a challenge.
Here are a few things that may make your work-from-home life easier.
Computer Monitor
Make sure you have a good monitor, or else your experience of long online hours will be poor. A good monitor also means a way better protection to the eyes and less fatigue.
Desk
Long term you need a proper desk. Make sure you have one adapted to your needs and wishes. If you wish to work on a kitchen table and find it relaxing, that is completely fine.
Laptop Stand
You will end up with a terrible posture if you don't buy this gadget. Or you can make it on your own. Anything that is firm, secure, and elevates a laptop will be better than it just lying much lower than it should be.
External Keyboard and Mouse
The laptop is just not as practical as a conventional keyboard and a mouse. At least long-term.
Office Chair
You will need an office chair because the wooden dining chair or any other sitting surface will make your work from home a pure pain. You will still need to get up and stretch from time to time, but it will remove great stress from your spine.
Foot Rest
If you are cursed to spend long hours sitting, there is a huge chance your legs will start to suffer. It doesn't matter how great an office chair you have, your legs are not made to endure a prolonged period of inactivity.
To improve circulation and rest your feet in general take a look to get a footrest, or be sure to walk a lot to keep your blood in motion.
Webcam Cover
This is an extra safeguard to protect your personal life from any uncomfortable moments in front of strangers. It also comes in handy because you can swipe it and disable video in any case necessary.
Noise-Canceling Headphones
This is a great investment if you have to share space with others.
If you are serious about getting work done without any distractions like home sounds, pets, your family, or construction work, you should have one.
Blue-Light-Blocking Glasses
This is extra for light eyes people and whoever might have a condition with the vision. You might be already dealing with frequent headaches and vision problems. Try blue-light-blocking lenses, and eye irritation or fatigue will disappear.
