Putting things in perspective

Everything is not shitty.

When I look back just a few weeks ago the numbers were telling me I was doing well with crypto. If I sold then I would have more than enough to take a first class vacation. In fact it looked like I could reasonably retire in a few years and live off my crypto earnings. Then one by one people started dumping a lot earlier then I had planned. Maybe this is the same story with Splinterlands and so many things.

Maybe I'm a sucker, but when I put it into perspective a lot was airdrops I received. When they are first dropped then are worth something but as soon as people figure out how to sell then they dump. Some of those drops were massive. I didn't put a penny into those bags and they just fell from the sky.

Some were community tokens like POB and VYB. This was another airdrop with a long term goal, but I watched that account deflate from thousands of dollars to hundreds of dollars. Hive has maintained relatively stable and Hive dollars are even giving interest.

Now governments are offering high interest rates triggering inflation. Houses, gas, food go up, but salaries remain the same. Bitcoin seems to be stuck somewhere between 35,000 and 45,000 but history and the nature of Bitcoin tells me it won't stay there.

When I consider what I paid for these coins I feel consoled in the shit I hold. It is not a loss. I bought things low but now some of those things are returning to that low. It seems like there is a race to get dollars again.

I guess my only financial advice is to grin and bear it and try painting the big picture.

Let the Muppets Rock You

Why did Disney have to go and buy these guys too?

It's life

The picture I painted in the Fresh Paint program came from this photo.

Can you picture that?

I think most of these tokens take lots of time to develop and have a stable price than people are willing to exercise patience to HODL

Thank you @funshee.

A big part of the game is waiting and watching things go to the moon and then back down again.

“Never let anyone drive you crazy; it is nearby anyway and the walk is good for you.”

The crypto road to success, too early retirement, is one of many waves. I have the same experience you have + the fact that some of the tokens I bought at much higher levels than they are now. But, I must admit, some of the tokens I own went 2-digit x, even with today's prices, even with prices of a week ago, or even two weeks ago. I suppose we shall take a slightly longer horizon than just a single bull-run. Put our financial values in projects that will conquer the 'bears', short and longer-term. In a year, a few years, half a decade, maybe even a decade from now, all dreams may have come true. Or not LOL When the latter, at least we had a lot of fun LOL

The lovers, the dreamers and me....

To me they are experiments cooking. I'm learning a lot about how things are hyped and then abandoned. Stay safe @edje. There are a lot more surising lessons to learn ahead.

Why was the painter sprinting down the street?
Because his paint was running.

I saw the powerdowns and knew it was coming but still a little surprised. Parts of Hive engine became dumping grounds. VYB is not good to dump. I will stop in later today and see what is going on. A lot happens on the weekend but I'm not at my computer.
