The Cryptoverse is endless and you can't be everywhere! You can't catch all the opportunities... but you can do your best and try to be part of the things that may change the status quo in crypto. This is another random story about technology, airdrops and the sell/hold dilemma!
XION comes as a layer1 built for mainstream adoption through chain abstraction, which I discovered by mistake. I've seen a post on X or maybe Warpcast, and done some quests to explore their ecosystem.
The groundbreaking blockchain innovation is positioning itself as the first walletless Layer 1 solution, and what sets XION apart is its implementation of chain abstraction as a revolutionary approach that eliminates the complexities typically associated with blockchain technology.
In traditional blockchain ecosystems, users must navigate wallet setups, private keys, and often intimidating interfaces, which can deter non-technical users. XION removes these barriers by enabling a wallet-free experience, allowing users to interact seamlessly with dApps and blockchain-based systems without the need for wallets or extensive technical knowledge.
It looks like this innovation goes back to email logins and things that Web3 left behind. The interesting part came when they announced the $XION airdrop, and I was eligible for some tokens when the XION Mainnet launches.
I checked my eligibility already and I knew I will get 50 $XION but wasn't that excited, as the recent airdrops gave me thousands of tokens and an incredible low value for them.
Done the things, created my meta account, verified the ownership and managed to claim my tokens. Wow... the value of 50 $XION was $318, and I could have cash out straight away. But I've got mesmerized by fancy words like "the integration of chain abstraction ensures that the technical underpinnings of blockchain—such as transaction validation and multi-chain interoperability—are hidden from the user, creating a streamlined and intuitive experience."
I've seen a great potential for mass adoption, as XION bridges the gap between the blockchain world and everyday users by making interactions as simple as traditional web applications. I decided to HODL!
I delegated my $XION attracted by the 38% APR, but I reached the same conclusion as many times before. The high APR makes no difference when the price of crypto goes down like crazy. Staked $318 worth of crypto instead of dumping it on Kucoin, and now I feel sorry!
It went down to $275 in a week, then to $200 in two weeks! Did XION stopped sliding down the slope? It didn't and now my stash sits at $135 and looks like the depreciation will slowly continue. I lost more since I took a leap of faith into blockchain, so this may be just another experiment.
Time will tell if delegating was the best choice, but beyond personal gains I do hope that XIO's scalability, user-friendliness, and adaptability, will create the ideal platform for developers looking to onboard a broader audience. Time will tell anon... time will tell!
