Exploring Cyber - The Layer 2 Solution For Web3 Social

I discovered the Cyber blockchain after I've completed a quest on Layer3, and started exploring another branch of the Superchain. Cyber is built with the open-source OP Stack from Optimism, future proofing your app and making it interoperable with other EVM chains.

Layer3 helps web3 users to experience curated ways to explore DeFi, NFTs, DAOs, and trending platforms. The journey can lead to various in-platform achievements for mastering essential on-chain skills. The new chains featured and quests are already verified so interaction and efficiency is maximized.

I completed the first quest by bridging $ETH to Cyber, and received $CYBER as rewards. More quests followed, minted some NFTs, earned more tokens and got eligible for a bigger reward. The end of the Mint Podcast campaign shared $65,000 worth of $CYBER to the participants and I claimed my 2.54 tokens.

More quest followed and led to testing the integrated swap, for another batch of $CYBER rewards. It was fast and cheap, which made me research more about the blockchain. The frictionless UX through native AA with built-in account abstraction and seedless wallets deliver a smooth user experience.

Cyber is built on hyper scale EigenDA, ensuring high TPS at low costs. This frame will match the requirement for social applications, while the security is enhanced by ETH restaking. Social Dapps will become interoparable with other EVM due to the open-source OP Stack from Optimism!

Cyber’s decentralized sequencer and verifier network ensures there’s no single fault-point for the network, eliminating platform risk for developers. What about the rewards? I don't like lazy crypto, and the mainnet staking rewards on Cyber were generous. The first stage had 500,000 CYBER allocated, offering 44.41% APY when I staked my tokens. Staked $CYBER and restaked $ETH are delegated to AVS operators running critical infrastructure, including Cyber's sequencers and verifiers.

CYBER stakers and holders can shape the direction of the ecosystem by initiating and voting on governance proposals. Not much I could do with my 2.98 cCYBER, but at least I am part of something bigger!

CYBER Mainnet Staking main purpose is to fortify network security and reward early loyal members of the Cyber community. The growing ecosystem is the ideal environment for developers to launch social apps. As the ecosystem thrives, CYBER stakers will enjoy eligibility for potential airdrops.

The Superchain will expand, and all the chains under the umbrella will thrive. This made me consider $CYBER as a lazy passive income, considering 5.5M tokens have been specifically allocated to incentivize staking. Two million $CYBER will be distributed in the first year following the Mainnet launch, a considerable amount of money at the current token price.

I kept staking the tokens I earned through Layer3 quests, and my stash of cCyber grew to 6.46! The APY maintained well above 30% for weeks, and I am looking forward to see how the project will distribute the tokens to those that actively participated in the mainnet staking.

Another interesting idea was the the process used to select the mascot, where the two best entries were added into a head2head voting battle. Users were asked to choose their favorite, by minting either Bercy or Raf.

I minted both as I liked both the green-skinned monster and the giraffe! I hope the holders will have some perks once the new official Cyber mascot is chosen. Currently Raf is leading the competition, and it looks like this beloved community symbol will soon be crowned the official mascot!
