I joined Grill in February, roughly after Valentine's Day, and it was a smooth journey through the Subsocial ecosystem. Grill is the top decentralized social network for Polkadot and Kusama, and helps content creators to grow and get rewarded for their activity.

The Subsocial ecosystem has been steadily growing and the Grill Dapp keeps upgrading. The users can tap into content monetization, community interaction, and tools for creators to manage their platforms without relying on traditional social media structures. This aligns with the growing trend of decentralized social networks that prioritize user autonomy and data privacy.
What's my story? Joined before Valentine's Day and started building a legacy on PolkaVerse. I posted, chatted and engaged with the vibrant community... and I started earning $SUB tokens. Yes crypto bro... creators are able to earn rewards for producing content, and also others are rewarded for curating and interacting with their favorite pieces of content.
This is possible through content staking, the tool that aims to grow the user and content base of Subsocial through incentives. Locking at least 2,000 SUB will allow you to like posts, support your favorite creators, and earn even more SUB! Basically.... you can earn rewards by creating good posts, comments, and shares that other users like.
To maximize your rewards, make sure to like at least 10 posts per day. The more SUB you lock, the more rewards you will get. Keep active and enjoy the rewards on a weekly basis, distributed every Monday for the previous week. It is a nice way to spend time in web3, and earn some crypto.
You earn more when you hustle more, and building a network of creators helps both the users and the ecosystem. I've worked hard to share knowledge, and to onboard others to Grill, as web3 socials are the future! Earned a nice stash of $SUB in eight months, and constantly staked to boost my "like" power.
There are always two sides of the coin, and where there's rewards in the game... some will try to abuse the system. AI spam and AI generated images, random quotes, copy-paste crypto news, endless shares ... I've seen them all on Grill!
Other users with high ethics and a strong fairness constantly opposed those that spammed for rewards. A whole system was exposed, as people were using all possible tricks to steal $SUB from the good creators and help the cheaters earn more. The crusade against them was fierce but it lacked official support.
When the Grill mods suggested that it's the users duty to educate the spammers, and decided to watch them abuse the system, I had my faith in Grill deeply shaken! Unstaked my $SUB and decided to sell! I kept 2000 $SUB staked to be able to earn and tip, and everything else was swapped into $DOT.
Why $DOT? Because of scalability, strong development and the growing ecosystem. The network can process many transactions in parallel, allowing for higher throughput and reducing congestion, and the solid technical foundation is driving innovation.
The DOT tokens can be staked for rewards, providing holders with a way to earn passive income. I already had 17 $DOT staked on SubWallet, so at the moment I was looking to boost my yield rewards.
I am still a newbie on Polkadot, and was a bit confusing to move and swap the $SUB tokens I had in my wallet. I had to move them from the Subsocial chain to the HydraDX to be able to see them in my balance.
The cross-chain move was fast and I was soon able to see the $SUB into the Hydration DEX. I got $DOT at a discounted price, at $4.17 per unit, and the $SUB price was quite high on the day. Double dip on this trade!
Swapped 176k SUB for 66 DOT and paid only 1.4 SUB for the transaction and 0.199 DOT trade fee! Must admit I was impressed by the reduced fees on Hydration! However, the saga doesn't stop here... as the $DOT was not visible for staking! It required another cross-chain move before was ready to earn me some yield!
What about Grill? I took the foot of the gas but still dropping articles in there. I don't plan to hustle as before as long as spammers are constantly finishing on the top of the weekly earning charts. Will earn a handful of $SUB and stake them perpetually, just as a way to support quality content trough my likes!
