Polkadot is dead! DEAD! Completely! Nothing is happening on it; transactions are not processing, and the project only exists on paper. And certainly, there are no hot airdrops and memecoins like on Solana.
But hold on... you wouldn't believe that, would you? DED is actually the response to the previous narrative that attributed at least clinical death to Polkadot. So, let's dive into it.
DED memecoin airdrop
On Polkadot, at least two major airdrops are in the works. I've already talked or written about the memecoin PINK and its airdrop. There, you just need to play a desktop game with bubbles, connect Metamask, and you can look forward to free coins.
DED, however, is even simpler than PINK. So, how do you participate in the airdrop?
The DED airdrop is based on holding the DOT token, Polkadot's native token, including the vDOT liquid staking token distributed by Bifrost (and a few other liquid staking alternatives). This is intended to result in a fair distribution to people who have so-called "skin in the game."
Phase 1: DED Token Airdrop
Exact details and airdrop dates have not been announced yet, but the project stated that it will be fair, transparent, and inclusive. Anyone holding DOT in their non-custodial wallet (i.e., not on an exchange like Binance) will receive the airdrop. At the end of the article, I'll provide you with some links on how to set up a wallet on Polkadot.
Phase 2: DEDBIRD NFT Airdrop
DED also intends to release an NFT collection inspired by the iconic pair of "dead" birds.
DED Tokenomics
The total supply is 1,789,000,000,000 DED (1.789 trillion).
80% will be distributed through user airdrops, and 20% will go to the project's treasury.
