Mom was a tough and disciplined parent, characteristics that suited her at work and in her career, a workaholic and had high expectations. But she does so for our benefit. She cares for her children in a different way. And I've almost overlooked that, discovering that she was a fine parent after all putting my relationship with her in a new perspective.
