Part 2/8:
On their journey to the Alps, Heidi revels in her newfound freedom, shedding her cumbersome clothing to embrace the simple joys of nature. However, upon their arrival, her grandfather is furious, demanding that they leave. Dete, rather than staying with Heidi, cunningly abandons her, leaving Heidi to face her grandfather alone.
Life with Alpöhi
Initially, Alpöhi refuses to accept Heidi in his life and locks her out of his home. Left with no option, Heidi decides to make the barn her temporary abode, where she befriends the goats. The next day, Alpöhi begrudgingly provides her breakfast and takes her to church, where the priest insists that Alpöhi should care for his own flesh and blood. Hesitantly, he allows Heidi to stay, setting a foundation for their bond.
