The Mine: A Hostile Work Environment
Working at the mine was laden with challenges. The supervisor, Pavich, made it clear that women were only being hired due to new legal requirements and subjected the new female employees to demeaning comments about their bodies. Josey and her new colleagues faced incessant harassment from male coworkers, who found amusement in defacing women's changing rooms and hurling slurs.
