Part 1/8:

The Haunting of Chia-Hao: A Tale of Ghosts and Justice

In the midst of a chaotic scene, police officer Chia-Hao finds himself bleeding on the ground, grappling with memories from his past. As he lays there, the distant visage of a woman flickers through his mind, mingling with clearer recollections of a childhood marred by isolation and bullying due to his unusual ability: he has seen ghosts since he was young.

Part 2/8:

Chia-Hao is accompanied by his partner Chieh, both tasked with monitoring a closed road. During their watch, they encounter Hei-Gou, a man desperate to reunite with his family. Despite a fleeting encounter with trouble, Chia-Hao's compassion leads him to let Hei-Gou go with a warning instead of a ticket. This kindness proves disastrous when Chia-Hao discovers a bloody wallet in the trunk of Hei-Gou's car.

Before he can act, Hei-Gou assaults Chia-Hao, killing Chieh in the process. As Chia-Hao is shot, the ghost of a woman named Ya-Hui intervenes, allowing him to defend himself and ultimately shoot Hei-Gou. As the chaos ensues, Chia-Hao's experience spirals into a series of questions about his sanity and his role in the events that follow.

Part 3/8:

In the days that follow, he is commended for catching a dangerous criminal, but it’s not without consequences. When he cites the help of a ghost in his report, he is met with disbelief and fired from the police force. Without a path forward, Chia-Hao is approached by Mr. Chang, head of a secret police division known as the Ninth Precinct, dedicated entirely to dealing with ghosts.

Enter the Ninth Precinct

In an underground precinct, hidden from the world above, Chia-Hao learns he will work alongside a team that bridges the gap between the living and the dead. There, he meets Hsueh, a medium with her own demons, and together they face a new mission — to uncover the predicaments of restless spirits.

Part 4/8:

Their first case leads them to a haunted house where a young woman is tormented by the ghost of a child longing for his mother, revealing the deep connections ghosts have with unresolved matters in life. Utilizing tools like a mystical peachwood umbrella and sacred bullets, Chia-Hao and Mr. Chang delve further into the ghostly realm.

Yet, as they seek to help lost souls, Chia-Hao’s past continues to unearth itself, pulling him back towards Ya-Hui, urging him to seek justice for her untimely demise.

Unraveling a Web of Secrets

Part 5/8:

Chia-Hao’s investigative instincts drive him to uncover the truth behind Ya-Hui’s death, prompting him to revisit interactions with her ghost. This spirals into a discovery revealing connections between several missing persons tied to Councilor Lin and the Sun General Hospital, suggesting a sinister conspiracy.

As suspicion looms over Dean Yu-Shu at the hospital, whose dubious ties with Councilor Lin start surfacing, tension between Chia-Hao and Mr. Chang threatens to explode. Chia-Hao’s quest becomes a personal battle pitting him against ghosts both emotional and literal, while trying to navigate the complex relationships around him.

Part 6/8:

A climactic struggle ensues as Yu-Shu orchestrates a dark ritual meant to maintain her power and youth through sacrificial rites. With Hsueh’s assistance, Chia-Hao confronts Yu-Shu to reclaim justice for the lost souls.

Justice and Reconciliation

Amidst intense supernatural battles, revelations emerge. Chia-Hao's relationship with his mother starts to define every action he takes. Mr. Chang, weighed down by his own losses, becomes more involved than ever, ultimately risking his own safety to rescue his daughter from the grasp of the dark forces Yu-Shu has implemented.

The fight culminates in an emotional crescendo, freeing the trapped souls and allowing Chia-Hao to finally reconnect with his ghost mother as she moves on, achieving the reconciliation he sought since childhood.

Part 7/8:

In poignant moments following these harrowing events, Chia-Hao and the team mourn their losses while celebrating newfound clarity. Not only has Chia-Hao been able to uncover the truths surrounding his job with the Ninth Precinct, but he has also come to terms with his childhood pain.

The Shadows of the Past

Despite victory, darkness lingers. The precinct grapples with political denial and cover-ups regarding the supernatural while Chia-Hao navigates a complex world of the living and the dead. As his journey continues, the future of the Ninth Precinct—and those who inhabit it—remains uncertain.

Part 8/8:

In the end, as Chia-Hao steps into an uncertain future, one truth stands clear: while the ghosts have stories to tell, every spirit longs for justice, closure, and recognition of their life’s tale. As politicians deny the existence of the supernatural, the Ninth Precinct continues its work, forever tethered to both the seen and unseen forces of the world around them.

As the story concludes, a chilling new twist emerges, hinting at new beginnings, unresolved mysteries, and the ever-present need to confront the shadows of the past, leaving room for future explorations into the essence of life, death, and the spaces in between.
