Does anyone in the US catch public transport when they go to the #nhl/#nba?

Or is it just not a thing people do?

I'm always shocked at how big and full the car parks around the arenas are when they do those drone overheads.

Sort:

Memories of my childhood....

My dad would take me downtown almost every Saturday night in Toronto to see the Leafs. We religiously took the subway, stopped at College station and walked to Maple Leaf Gardens the rest of the way.

Perhaps you should share with him what mass transit was like along Fordham Road and parts of the Bronx.

THE BEST!!!!

We took the train in and got off around Fordham University....It was a gong show from then on!!!

Imagine it today. Major cities in the US have become war zones.

NYC is nuts these days.

Yeah I'm good. In the middle of nowhere Canada. With my little farm lol

I might join you. We can do the show from your woodshed.

It is getting nutty even by me.

Ah good memories :)

I guess the downtown arenas are a little different.

Where Florida play certainly isn't downtown.

It depends upon where people come from and where the arenas are situation.

For example, we would drive into the city, park, and catch the train to the ball park. But ones coming in from Jersey, for example, would tend to drive to the park

Good memories for you as well, I take it? :)

Yeah I enjoyed the ball games in NY. Was to most the stadiums growing up.

Shea and Citi Field, Madison Square Garden, the Meadowlands.

Saw a soccer game in the late 70s in the Meadowlands. The NY Cosmos with Pele on the team.

The parking costs less than public transportation if you use Groupon

Stadium parking costs nearly as much as your ticket here.

Absolute rip off.

Ouch. I can park for $20

Haha that's expensive!!

My bad.

We're not all as loaded as you Dave ;)

Yeah. I'm loaded. I live in a Kia with my gf. #RichieRich

I think most people drive their own car to the venue :D

What's the culture like in the Phillipines?

Public transport or driving to the arena/stadium?

People with cars usually use their own. Others take public transport.

I never had always drove there. I guess it depends on where you live but often times the mass transit systems are a huge mess at least when I lived up north those systems always ran slow and delayed.

I think it depends. If the transportation system is cheap enough, then yes but I tend to just drive where I need to go.
