Blame the societal pressure and the herd mentality of some people to behave like the Joneses. Nothing can buy you happiness, better single and happy, than married and frustrated. We only live once. We should make the most of our time here.

At some point I was beginning to wonder if it was marriage that brought happiness at a stage of one's life. This is very appalling as young people do not even make plans for their future anymore. All they do is worry about marriage, no positive impact to the society they live in; I just hope things get better, Marriage or no marriage, happiness is so sure.
The pressure to conform to "standards" mostly wins over rational behaviours most of the time.
