Dear Stranger,
I didn't see you today. You didn't walk past my hostel as you usually did. I wonder what might have happened. It has become my daily ritual to stay by my window when it's 9:00 am. That's when I see you.
Your perfume precedes you and I wonder if you bask yourself in it before leaving your home. When I scent your perfume, I scramble closer to my window to get a better view of you. It was easier before, but now, my landlord raised the fence and so I have to stand on my toes to see you.
You walk with so much charisma and swagger. Not the version that other guys has adopted. No. Your very own walk. You walk like you are on air, with your head raised high. You exude so much confidence like you know you are beneath no one, and so, I hold you in high regard.
When I see you, you are always bobbing your head to music flowing from your earpods. I wonder what genre of music you prefer. I hope it's country or folk music. It will serve my purpose if I eventually overcome my shyness. At least when i get to talk to you, i will have a common interest with you. If you don't listen to that genre, I hope we can argue about what genre of music is better.
You don't dress in round neck tops and jeans, no. You are always in turtle necks, pants, sweat shirts, joggers, overalls but never round neck tops and jeans. You don't know how much this style of dressing has distinguished you_made you unique. I have never seen you in the common footwear that is palms, always sneakers. Giving clean style!!!
Seeing you has become the highlight of my day. I look forward to it so much. But it's been three days now since you stopped passing by. And now, I miss you even though you are nothing but a stranger to me. I hope that when next I see you, I have the courage to hand this letter over to you. I hope that when this letter gets into your hands, you read it, smile and shake your head in amusement. I hope that just then, you will see yourself the way that I do.
