Okay, sorry for misunderstanding you. I figured we're talking about a trans-woman without looking deeper into it. Could've easily been me stepping into that trap :D

No worries. I think a lot of times people are not trying to be rude but are seen that way. I thought using the / as a spacer between the two was acceptable and not offensive and a - between them would have been derogatory.
This is why being triggered sucks overall, it often happens with no ill intent meant. It appears a sensitive topic and personally until I meet a transgender in person I will have little opinion on the topic either way. I tend to make my judgments based off of my real life experiences and not what just would be general acceptance of the crowd. There are all sorts of people and until someone does something to me personally I tend not to have an opinion. I don't have the energy to be involved in all topics unless they personally involve me. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, nice or not. That is free speech, each person has the right to be whatever they want and people have the right to judge them. I know someone who works for homeland security who dresses like a fox, thinks they are a fox. Nicest guy in the world, that is what I know and accept him for. I could care less what he thinks he is. At the end of the day, he is a human and I base my like/dislike based on the human, not the topic.
I came here as @trumpman was flagged, ended up having some good discussion from others answering replies. It was not a total loss, the discussion is good.
I just wish we knew how @tygertyger was a slur as it is a username and I thought that user was a part of the LGBT community so I don't understand how or why the OP considers the name a slur if the rest of the community doesn't.
