RE: The Transgender Scapegoat

You're corrupting the true meaning of the passage. Jesus wasn't giving His approval for homosexuality. What does the Bible say about homosexuality?

(Leviticus 18:22 NIV) "'Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable.

(Leviticus 20:13 NIV) "'If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.

(1 Corinthians 6:9-11 NIV) Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders {10} nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. {11} And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

What's the true meaning of the passage? Obviously, Paul knows nothing about homosexuality or transgenderism as we understand those terms, though I'm sure he has a solid idea of the activity and ideas involved.

But Paul is (probably) referencing the creation account in Genesis 1 when he says "male and female" in Galatians 3. He changes the formula from "Jew OR Greek" and "slave OR free" to "male AND female," as in "male and female He created them."

Looks like Paul is denying something about the created order, something that normally separates male and female into a power structure or gives one preferential treatment (over the other). The seed for transgender politics is there, a reading of gender through the lens of the Christ in whom the created normativity is transcended.
