On the past weekend I have attended the celebrations of the fourth anniversary of the Free Republic Of Liberland. We were a group of approximately 100 Liberlandians and libertarians from all parts of the world.
The first day was an exciting conference where we saw outstanding architectural designs for the country's settlement, learned about the relationships with its direct neighbors, Croatia and Serbia, and more countries around the world, and even enjoyed the presentations on the development of the country's administration as the latter happens directly on the blockchain.
above: Ivan Pernar (member of the Croatian parliament), Liberland's President Vít Jedlička, and Tom Garrett (former American congressman).
On the second day, we traveled by boat from Apatin to Liberland. While we could not set foot on the land, I now know where it is :-)
Above: President Vít jedlička, Tariq Abassi (Secretary of State), and Sergio Bianchi (Architect), discussing the interior design of "Bitcoin Freedom", Liberland's flagship boat for its floating settlement on the river Danube.
You can find more pictures and information on the country's official web site and LiberlandPress.
Congratulations!! Is it a new freedom country, in the making basically?
Sounds really interesting this Liberland thing and considering that it is somehow close to my country I hope to visit it one day. Maybe, if crypto will change something for the better for me and the world, even move there. As an interesting fact "Liber" in my native language means "free" thus I can call it "Taramul Liber" or "The Free Land". I will follow your related posts closely and see how things evolve. It sounds really really interesting thus I will read some more on the official website.
Hi @mariusfebruary,
Very interesting read.
When I was reading this fantastic blog, my mind thought that if the sort of freedom Bitcoin enjoys in Liberland is available to it all over the world with "government's support" (thereby shifting from the fiat currencies) all the people may get a chance to get financial freedom because of this exciting innovative Blockchain Technology!
Isn't it @mariusfebruary!?
A 100% financial dream, but praying the Almighty to do the impossible.......POSSIBLE!
This post has been included in the latest edition of The Steem News in 10 posts - a compilation of the key news stories on the Steem blockchain.
Fascinating, Marius.... just lost a half hour to the liberland website. Didn't even know this existed before your article, but it's obvious how ideologically aligned such a state would be with the tenets of decentralization. Thanks for shining a light on it.
Contrast abysmally the name of that country (until now unknown to me) related to the concept of Freedom, so longed for by all humanity, and the extension of its territory.
It is exciting to see the citizens of that micronation live in such a meticulously designed way.
Hopefully more nations of the world will achieve a minimum percentage of happiness, development and true citizenship enjoyed by the inhabitants of Liberland.
By the way, what is the nationality for the people there?
Hi @juanmolina,
If Liberland can, why can't India?
Without directing the economists and financial sector/investment analysts to do a thorough research on the feasibility, possibility, benefits, advantages/disadvantages, our politicians declared BITCOIN to be legally not tender.
It's decentralized and transparency would have been the reason for the ban is what came in my mind. I am not sure, just speculating....
Actually demonetization wasn't agreed upon by the former RBI Governor Mr. Raghuram Rajan and was dead against it! But they didn't heed to his warning.
IF THAT BE THE CASE, HOW ON THE EARTH CAN WE EXPECT THE ACCEPTANCE OF THIS BITCOIN?

Those politicians opposed the crypto because they did not have the vision and knowledge to imagine some way to enrich themselves.
Otherwise they would have supported it totally.
That's unfortunately a sad reality , Sir

Dear @mariusfebruary
Reading this publication caused me a lot of curiosity so I set out to know a little more about this country. The translation into Spanish is (Tierra Libre). After reading some topics I realized that they have an account in steemit, I immediately began to follow them.
I am very happy with the name of that country I identify a lot with that name. In Venezuela, that is what we are looking forward to, to be a free land.
I think everyone in the world should use the motto of that country.
A virtual hug for you.

Hello my friend i love the concept and ideia behind Liberland. Can you explain me if you intend to be a autonomous country and if you accept citizens from all around the world?
All good for you my friend.
Yes to both 😃. Best is to use the on boarding on https://liberland.org (“Get Involved”). The first step is to apply for E-residency.
