Kentucky Senator Rand Paul is now becoming once again a very strong conservative in Washington. He lately has made some very non-republican moves though. He voted against the Republican Party this year when they tried to repeal Obamacare. He also voted against Trump's cabinet pick Mike Pompeo.
Despite these votes that Republicans did not like he is still very likely to run as a Republican. Craig Holman who is a lobbyist for Public Citizen said "I would fully expect Rand Paul to throw his hat in the ring," Rand also scored is scored a 97 by the Conservative Union for his votes in the senate.
Many libertarians were disappointed last year when Rand Paul dropped out. Rand had the most libertarian support during his campaign for the Republican ticket. After dropping out many libertarians had to side with former Governor Gary Johnson who was chosen as the libertarian nominee. Some would even say that Rand Paul was more libertarian than Gary Johnson. With the amount of support from the growing libertarian movement he is said by many Republicans to most likely run in the next election cycle.
I really wish he would run as an libertarian. i think he would do much good.
