Giving Blockchain and Cryptocurrency Talk to My College's Libertarian Club
I am giving a talk to my college's Young Americans for Liberty club this Wednesday and am looking for some advice from the Steemit community.
I am thinking about focusing on how blockchain technology, specifically cryptocurrency allows for pseudo-anonymous transactions allowing for individuals to separate their identity from their fiscal activities. I am also considering focusing on the potential of blockchains to create unprecedented transparency in public organizations/programs, especially organizations that have a reputation of being corrupt.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Excellent topic and focus for the crowd. I would definitely highlight that blockchain technology and decentralized apps will take transparency and accountability out of the hands of a government agency and that the possible applications of blockchain apps is endless, allowing for development of consensus groups to take over many regulatory functions without having to be concerned with building trust in the system, since it is decentralized and the power to alter transactions and records doesn't rely on a single or central entity.
Good luck!
Thank you very much for the well-thought out answer. Taking trust out of the system is huge and especially out of the hands of a central entity such as the government. That will be taken very well by the libertarian crowd. I am actually very excited to have the opportunity to discuss these matters with a crowd that will understand the benefits of such a technology. Cheers!
Good Idea
