Slavery was "legal," and the Underground Railroad was "illegal." It was "illegal" to be a Quaker in colonial Massachusetts. Alcohol was "legal," then "illegal," and now "legal" if you jump through hoops and don't break various arbitrary regulations. The most popular rifle in America was "illegal" for all practical purposes for nearly a decade, and is "illegal" in many parts of the country now. Legality has zero bearing on morality, but statists treasure their ever-changing and ever-growing scriptures all the more the less they can understand them.
