"Dan-o" is one of the four Korean festivals, on May 5th in the lunar calendar.
"Dan" means first and "O" means fifth.
Ancestors thought that the day when the odd number overlaps twice is a good day.
It is a feast day because "five" overlaps twice and after finishing the planting, praying for good harvest in the fall.
Below two arts are showing the people of "Dan-o" which were created by famous Korean artists. (Kim Hong Do, Shin Yun Bok)

Also, at noon of that day, people cut the jujube branches or put stones between two branches.
It was also a custom to pray for more fruit to be placed, called "A marriage of jujube trees".

In "Dan-o", the women played the swing, and the men wrestled.
The people who won the wrestling were called "Changsha" and the people from the village congratulated them.
People washed their hair with water infused with sweet flags, as they believed it expelled misfortune and helped to pass hot summer days safely.
