That is one of the most important aspect of writing, if you don't know what are you writing about, you can't even write two or three lines, you should have complete knowledge about the topic you are about to write, and that required research and reading.

in a nut shell'. Well said. Thank you. Once I have an idea of what I want to write. I write something down. Make lists, diagrams, whatever. It's like building on a foundation, to work on. But you got to write something to to get your idea together. The more you add to it, the more yourplan' of the plot comes together.
