Well, I realized that the popcorn thing isn't helpful to people that are experiencing real pain and discomfort and are talking about it.

It's a lot of text to go through, but one main thought from my days in sales is "If you're explaining you're losing." I see a lot of that on the wall here.

Not everything is a sale (though salesmen will often sell you on the idea that it is). Some like myself value explanations because they truely want to understand different perspectives, not be sold. It's a small distinction, maybe, but I still think it's a useful one. Maybe that makes me the mark though. :)
