Do you believe in your own story?

This is to help you ask yourself important questions.

Aha. Yes.

I just asked that question.

Weird isnt it?

I just finished watching the first season of "American Gods", weird fucking show to say the least. However, one thing did stand out to me while watching it. Aside from the great narrator at the beginning, this one question from the movie really stood out to me.

This is probably not a fucking quote. I probably jumbled more than half the words in this next line so keep that in mind.

"If gods are created from belief, what of the people whose hearts believe in them?" -American Gods

What I took out of this sentence?

Belief.

Yes, belief. This little feeling we have within ourselves about what is it that we consider real and fake.

What is it that we understand and will not deny under any circumstance.

Belief.

What the fuck is this belief we all have?

Is it what holds this mesh of reality together as a whole? The single unified belief of the human race that reality exists?

What the fuck does this belief do?

Does it create wine out of water?

Bread from the wind?

if you were to ask me. I probably wouldn't know. Weird, isn't it?

If I were to give a description of belief without using the word belief in it, I would probably say the following just for science's sake.

"The power to internally acknowledge and whole-fully accept something or someone as a being of significance to our personal lives."

It's a fucking power, not a fact. Belief is something that is recognized by its people for it to hold value. Fuck technology because it was acknowledged by people for its existence to even be considered so its opinion doesn't fucking matter in this conversation.

Now. Let me ask you a question.

If belief was the sole thing really driving human nature to advance. Belief in evolution and progress for example.

Do you believe in your own story?

Aha. Did not expect that question did ya?

Well, ,let me sincerely fucking ask. Do you believe in your own story? Yes, the story of you as a human being on this flying fucking planet called earth surrounded by billions of other human beings with their own personalized fucking personalities.

Yes? No? What does this question mean?

Well, do you believe you have your own story to tell? Is your life worth you, yourself, believing in it?

Is this all a fucking dream your willingly living until you die to find out you never gave a shit about this life or is it something you believe to hold value in your heart and that is worth your time?

I'm asking some basic questions that you should all generally answer yes to but yet there will always be people who answer no. Why?

Because not everyone is the fucking same. Just like people love to be identified as a fucking train rather than a male human being. There are those who do not believe in their own fucking story.

After all, that is what you are doing intentionally or unintentionally. Whether you accept it or not. You are creating a story. However boring or exciting as it may be. You are creating a story to which you are the lead and you are the end of.

Makes you feel important, doesn't it?

Well, fuck you.
