When life hits you hard, when you're standing on the edge of devastation, and when you feel like the world is against you. Is it truly your fault? Do you deserve this? I believe this is a subjective matter for some cases. But in some, acceptance is the key for a better tomorrow. Acceptance is the ability in which we are able to consent in receiving for undertake something offered, something written for us.
What is Acceptance?
Acceptance is something in we tend to accept something that happened without further reasoning. Sure, in some cases it is hard for us to accept things; death, misfortunes and etc. We learn to become stronger no matter how strong the world is against us. Perseverance is a vital element in learning to accept things the way it is.
But how?
I know it is hard for some of us. Sometimes, we encounter bad luck streaks and think "what did I do to deserve this?". This is an unhealthy way of thinking because this will lead us to overthinking and when we overthink, POOF – new problems start to arise. Don't think too much. For something you can change, accept the loss of yesterday and strive better for a better tomorrow! And for something you can't change, why bother, right?
1. Don't Cling To The Past
You failed your exams. You just had your first breakup. You experienced financial problems. It is normal for people to mourn and it is not a strange sight for a man to cry too. If you feel like crying until your tears dry, feel free to do so. If you want to scream your lungs out, do it your way then. It is normal for us to express. We are human afterall. No matter how strong we are, no matter how manly you are, at the end of the day we are still humans with plethora of emotions. But remember, it is unhealthy for us to cling and dwell with our pasts! It will often lead us to think that we are no good and blame ourselves hence making it morr worse. Accept your loss, you will be better if you set your goals on the day right now. Believe me.
2. Less Expectations
It is a fact that we must swallow – we cannot live alone. We have to rely on someone, or something in order to live. For instance, you helped a friend in need and when you're in a bad shape, your friend is nowhere to help you. You are dissapointed, you feel worthless. You started to think that this world is being unfair to you. I know, because I keep doing this before and trust me people, it lead me nowhere. Starting from now, try to expect less and less from something or someone. It is not a matter of fact that when you expect less, you trust them less too. It is better for us to expect less and achieve greater outcomes than what we expected rather than vice versa, right? When we expect less and yet still failed or luck is not on our sides, then we will slowly learn to accept that it is not meant for us. This world is a cruel yet beautiful place :)
3.Make It Meaningful
Sometimes, the worst thing that happens to us ends up being the most fundamental part of our personal growth. It is easier to accept something when we explore the opportunities and possibilities that come out of it. What can you learn from your difficulty? How has your difficulty made you a stronger person? Everything happens for a reason and accepting our misfortunes is a process in life in which we have to do no matter what in order to survive for the next day and the day after. When we can no longer change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves. Don't think too much about the past and blame it on yourself. It is a torture for you mind and soul. Live free and think rationally on everything that happens around you whether it is a good cause or otherwise.
