the internet is the world's biggest ham radio isn't it? Except that it does not quite have the charm of listening intently to voices and personalities that float in on radio waves.

I used to do the ham radio bit when i was young and it was actually a pretty cool community. enjoy yourself

I'm pleased that you had the experience, Adarsh! We have something in common!

I have been a fan of it since I was ten years old, so I have seen many changes in the technology. I still enjoy the thrill of making contacts across the world using a mere ten watts of power, Morse code, and earphones, just the way I did in the beginning.

There is a satisfaction in doing it myself that is not the same as plugging a device into the wall and talking to someone twelve time zones away through a sophisticated system always guaranteed to work. I still take pride in knowing how to build the things I need, in knowing about propagation, and copying code.

I know it is antiquated, but that is part of the fun!
