A miracle pill or a dangerous supplement?
DHEA has been hyped for a while now as the anti-aging miracle pill.
At least by some.
Others state it is a cancer causing estrogen booster in men.
Perhaps the truth is something in between?
More good than bad?
I have read numerous studies and there seems to be many more positive studies and trials than negative ones.
Especially in regards to mood.
Has anyone out there tried DHEA?
If so, what was your experience?
Make you a younger you?
I have read that it can help restore testosterone levels in men to when they were a younger age, thus reducing some age related side effects.
Things such as muscle strength, bone strength, younger looking skin, overall better feeling of well being etc.
I mean it must have some effects since it has been banned by major sports associations, including the NFL, NBA, MLB as well as the NCAA.
My doctor suggested I give it a try, I'd love to hear some thoughts from people that have used it...
DHEA is an essential nutrient that is not produced in the body and must be obtained outside. Grass-fed meat and wild-caught salmon is the best source of DHEA.

DHEA is a precursor means it will convert into hormone after biotransformation in body.
Here are some facts about DHEA
Human body naturally produces this hormone DHEA (dehydroepiandrosterone) in adequate quantity from adrenal gland. DHEA level in our body peak in early adulthood and then slowly fall as we grow.
Synthetic medicinal preparation of DHEA is available in market as tablet and marketed as an anti-aging therapy, DHEA is also claimed treat chronic illness and improve physical performance.
Companies claimed that DHEA supplements are useful to maintain DHEA level and it could slow the aging process, possibly improving well-being, cognitive function and body composition. But research hasn't proved this to be true.
DHEA is a hormone. And this hormone is already secrete by body naturally. Use of this supplement may increase level of androgen
and may develop effects of steroid. DHEA also might increase risk of hormone-sensitive cancers such as prostate, breast and ovarian cancers. If you have any form of cancer or are at risk of cancer, don't use DHEA.
Interesting. Here in the Netherlands you only can buy DHEA with a doctors prescription. I don't know much about this hormone, but what are your reasons for taking it? And are there any risks? Because you might be messing with your hormonal system.
