As I mentioned in my last post, I am taking out some time everyday just for learning 3ds Max because I really want to explore what I can do with this software. Today I learnt making pillows from solid boxes and a little about omni lighting. Lighting is an element which can be learnt a little later but I am so thrilled by seeing the possibilities that I couldn't stop myself from trying it out.
There are multiple ways of creating the same object sometimes and you just need to find the one which suits the requirement the best. I made countless errors today while making something as simple as a pillow but I definitely learnt 2-3 different ways of how it can be made. After frequent frustration points I was finally able to achieve some of it and thought of adding a light source and render it. For a beginner level I used an omni light here, which is basically a single source of light which adds light in all the directions.
Below are the pictures of the attempt which I finally got right. Here I took a box, changed the measurements according to an actual pillow size and added the "cloth" modifier. (Material selected was silk) You can also check out how one can work in different views at once and everything is completely transparent while designing which makes it so much comfortable to work with.
Keep Creating
Lots of Love <3
I love seeing how people use the internet to learn new skills! I gotta check out this software! Do you know, would it be possible to put a 2-D cartoon drawing into the software and make it 3-D? I'm so curious! Thank you!
Thanks a ton <3 and yep it is possible to do so! :)
Wow alI am really happy that you have started to learn max software, it will be a great fun to work in it.
Yeah I think you are really good at it!
I am enjoying it a lot :)
This is awesome lol. Never knew so much goes into creating even an object as small as a pillow.
Hehe it is actually very simple but I am slowpoke right now because of insufficient practice!
It seems interesting. I also want to learn this software.
Hehe you should ;) it will interesting to see something from you for sure :D
Yes, for sure! If I get lucky enough to get the time for things other than jewelry and Steemit. :)
