This first month has been filled with all kinds of excitement. Steemit offered more than we could ever hope for and we are thrilled as the opportunities here keep presenting themselves to us. We originally chose this platform to share our process with the tiny home. Now we are here to share our process of finding land and starting a homestead in Alaska.
Being on Steemit for a month is when people should do your #introduceyourself. Now we know more of what we can contribute to this community. Perfect example is all the photography from past years waiting to be seen again. Or just our main goal is to help people, thats what community is about and that is definitely what we have.
This is the part where we want to give thanks and props! The homesteading Steemit community is more than we could ever hope for. The Golden Ambassador @goldendawne is very welcoming, promotes new comers on a regular basis and has great gardening posts. There are so many.. we are able to touch on a few homesteaders that have helped us in some way. @qberry's mantra "Do it yourself" is a good motivational post. @walkerland has beautiful photos and great instructions on her how to do post. We could go on and on and on.... Thank you to all the Homesteader online crew. Our goal is to provide quality content in the future by following in the foot steps of my fellow homesteading steemians.
Sharing original art work wasn't the plan a month ago... but it is now. I(Brandon) started some paintings today! Woo-hoo!
Last but not least... to all the minnows out there. Have fun is the number one goal here.(our opinion of course) I know there are frustrating moments out in the steem land. You can put a lot of effort into a post, think it is your best yet, then you get 3 up votes and 1" Wow, great post". Don't get discouraged keep at it, improve and learn everyday. There are whales out there up voting and there is a chance they will touch you.(@qberry also had a post about this). We are a example of a whale touch, splash or smack. We would like to give a big thank you to @hendrikdegrote for the huge wave of a vote that washed over our AK Tiny Home Build post.
Thanks again to all y'all!
Brandon and Lindsey

and the homesteading community is a wealth of information and knowledge here - plus they are the most supportive group!
This platform has drawn us in more than we ever thought it would. Your words are very kind as always! Thank you for your time and effort here on Steemit. Getting started on can be frustrating, there is a learning curve that is hard to over come for some. You definitely helped us more than once! THANK YOU
I'm honored for the mention. You are one of the ones making this a better place with your quality posts. The Homesteading folks are definitely the best on Steemit and really support each other. Thanks.
Your "Do It Yourself" post is the epitome of why we are here. If we can do it..... Plus, your "touched by a whale" post was at the perfect timing for us, between the post and the commenters, we were able to figure out what happened on our one big AK Tiny Home Build. We agree, The homesteading folks are the best. Thank you for your time and effort.
That's very kind of you to say. Thanks very much.
Happy month-sary Brandon and Lindsey! :) (Is that the right term!?)
Do you think you'll be featuring minimalist essays (like the one from Ryan and Josh)..kind of like your top 10? Or would that be too much of an off-topic relating to tiny-houses?
We're not sure about the minimalism... We are want to be homesteaders. Homesteading and minimalism, in our opinion, doesn't do well together. Lindsey and I are more like Tiny House Preppers. Thank for your comment!
