You Have The Right To Be Unhappy

in #life7 years ago

In today's day and age where people are chasing happiness, we forget one crucial thing:

You have the right to be unhappy.

We have all these self-help books and "inspirational" people out there, while under the pretext of wanting to help people, have made it seem it like it's wrong to be unhappy.

That's bullshit.

To deny your unhappiness, frustration, sadness, anger or even hate for something or someone will only serve to make you even unhappier.

To constantly compare your life with others' supposed happy life is well, not much of a life at all.

Again, you have the right to be unhappy.

Don't let anything or anyone else tell you otherwise.

From there, you can carry out little things to be come a little happier, just a little mind you, for you should not indulge in self-destructive behavior:

  • Maybe do the dishes tomorrow instead.
  • Put off your work for a bit.
  • Reply that text later.
  • Cheat on your diet and have a beer.
  • Bail on that event you didn't even feel like going in the first place.
  • Block someone on Facebook.
  • Gossip and bitch about that annoying friend to another friend.
  • Whatever.

The bottom line: Express how unhappy you are even if it's over a little thing.

And fear not what others may think of you.

Because you have the right to be unhappy.

True.. We always should not hide our actual feelings just because it is good to be happy. All days and moments are not same, we can't be always smiling like puppets.
Great thought. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I could connect to it.

Indeed...
