What's the point to all of this? Acquire your vision and ONE THING (PART 1)

For maximum effectiveness: Take a piece of paper or open an empty text document and write down your answers.

Ask yourself these five questions.

  1. What am I doing?
  2. Why am I doing it?
  3. What do I want to be doing?
  4. How can I be doing, what I want to be doing?
  5. What is the one thing that I can do right now, which will make everything else easier or unnecessary?

Meditate over your answers

Recognising vision and evaluating action

Welcome to another Steemit post. I want to help you find out what you want to do with your life. The importance of vision & mission in life cannot be understated.

They will guide your actions and decisions. They will be your compass and map. If you don't have them, you don't have a compass or a map. Needless to say, that you will never arrive anywhere. First and foremost because you lack perspective.

If you have answered the 5 questions above, you have already gotten a sense of how you are spending your present time vs. where you would like to see yourself go. The two don't necessarily have to go together. Maybe, what you are doing right now is highly counter-productive to where you want to end up.

It is important to drag this split into the conscious mind and reflect on it. After all, you have it in your power to change everything in your life -- YOU ARE YOUR OWN AGENT.

Refine vision or action

So, if you are not doing something that is pushing you towards your goal, why are you doing it? I don't mean to judge, I am just curious. I am sure there are good reason for why you are doing what you are doing.
Write down your answers.

Maybe, now that you have written you objections down, you come to re-evaluate your vision. Maybe that is not really what you wanted. Maybe it is. Maybe, by writing down your reasons for not doing what you want to be doing, you realise that they are no good reasons to hold you back!

Either way, your actions should now conform with your vision. Either reformulate the vision, since what you are doing is helping that vision, or reformulate your actions to push forward your vision.

Take action

  1. What is the one thing that I can do right now, which will make everything else easier or unnecessary?

This piece of wisdom is not by me. It is from the book The ONE THING.

I cannot recommend the contents of this book enough. Get it on Amazon or even Audible.

Obviously, by doing that one thing, and only that one thing you will see awesome progress in your mission in life. Why? Well, because multi-tasking is a myth. The book explains, that if we do multiple things instead of focusing on just one thing, we end up doing multiple things badly. I agree.

On the other hand, if you have just one thing. Just one. Behind which you put all your energy - and put your energy into it wisely, by adding, "... that will make everything else easier or unnecessary." - then you will make unbelievable progress in a very short amount of time.

This will be a series of multiple parts. Follow along with me and share your experiences in the comments below!

very nice post ... ich werde mi r das buch bestellen .. danke für den tipp

hat mein leben tatsächlich verändert. gute entscheidung, man!

The hardest question of all is 3. "What do I want to be doing?" - if there only was an easy solution and answer for it.

For me the answer is:

  • eat healthy - cook myself
  • workout regularly
  • keep my earnings
  • find a way to make money and be free
  • read/experience more of the world
-> Can all be summed up by living the Goodlife

That's a good answer. I like how you disconnected the question from any professional aspect. The first thing that came to my mind when I read it was "What should I work as", but I prefer your perspective!

I can recommend this Book, too, it is similar to yours. It's called "Gorilla Mindset" -
boosting your productivity by optimizing yourself
