So I'm sure this has happened to many of you! Don't you just hate putting effort and time into writing something , adding headings and lovely pictures just to accidentally close the tab and lose everything in the blink of an eye??!!
I was actually writing up my post for Learn & Earn week 18 and I closed the tab. I dont think Im in the right state of mind to start over as I actually want to murder someone right now!
Shame, I'll laugh about it tomorrow.
Do you guys write your posts up on a different platform like word or whatever to avoid this kind of thing? Please send some tips my way!

One of those "learn the hard way" things. Partiko is nice because it saves it as a draft. As does Whaleshares on the whaleshares platform, but only for several hours I believe. I usually am editing the post constantly wherever I'm writing so it saves it as a draft, but if I know I have to pause for an extended period of time, I copy and paste into a notepad equivalent. Sorry you lost your work. Extremely frustrating

Yes, sorry. Partiko is a mobile app. I'm so used to it that I assume everyone uses it. I barely touch my desktop PC

Often times I back up my posts to text files, particularly if I've created a few posts ahead of the week. If I'm extra nervous, I'll dropbox them or put them on a USB drive.
I now started writing it up in an email and sending it to myself

Ouch! Maybe you can first type your text in Notepad++ and when you finish copy the text to steem and add your photos. At least you have your text then :)

Yes, I have done it more than once. Now I always use eSteem or Busy.org.
eSteem has a button to save the draft while you are writing. Busy automatically saves the text as you write.
SteemIt is the worse platform in that aspect.
Im actually on steempeak, and i think I can save the draft but that would require me to actually save it!!!! Drives me so mad, I was pressing ctrl+z for like 10mins with no luck 🤣🤣
Then I really suggest Busy.org. It saves automatically after every letter you press.
Happened to me last week ! Took me a whole week to get back in the mood to re-writing the post GAAAAAAAH

Hahaha yeah exactly! I drew something once and at the 3nd made a huge mistake, then it took me months to start to draw it again and made another mistake....i think its put me off drawing as a whole for real🤣🤣🤣

I was once writing a sex scene for one of my old books 'The Pornstar', and I was a good two or three A4 pages into the scene when my apartment decided to have a power cut. It was just for a second but long enough to wipe out everything I had just written.
I did the mature response; first shouting "FUCK!" multiple times at the computer before having a two day sulk, not wanting to write any more of the book. Then I thought to myself that it wasn't a huge problem, because I could simply get my head down and write a better scene.
A few hours later I finished the scene, and to be honest I was a lot happier with it than I was with the original scene. So as cliche as it sounds, these things happen for a reason. Yeah, it's frustrating, but it will lead to something better, whether that is a better post or a better mindset for the future.
Hahaha sounds like a lovely book! But okay, ill do my best so think positive thoughts . Its still fresh, but Ill try

I know it's easier said than done, but try and dedicate a day to bitterly moan about it, get it all out of your system, then get ready to attack it again the next day. Trust me it will feel so much better when you are done, and your post will probably be better than the original...
Use SteemPeak, it allows you to save templates, drafts (with an auto save....).
If you were using Steemit, sometimes if you just open up the post page again, it might still be there...
