People that have followed my blog here will know of the Alienbutt health problems and how at the end of last week Mrs Alienbutt was taken into hospital. She was released on Friday night and we've spent the weekend doing nothing while she continues to get better. The reason for her stay in hospital was down to Lithium toxicity and hammers home the fact that when someone has to take lithium then regular blood tests are essential.
Mrs Alienbutt suffers from Bipolar with the depression side of the illness the major mood and for a number of years now I've been her carer as she struggles to cope with her mood.
Being a carer for a family member is one where you don't get to go on some training course but have to piece things together as you go along and just hope you get things right more than you get things wrong. Last week I saw Mrs Alienbutt's already low mood was starting to crash to a crisis level so I called out an ambulance.
A couple of days in hospital and a change to her medication and things should start moving in the right direction again.
Meanwhile I continue to overcome my own depression and anxiety, I haven't had a serious anxiety attack for about 2 weeks and apart from the odd twitching every now and then I'm doing good.
Why am I telling all this and putting it out there?
Mental health needs to be talked about, it is a growing problem and those who suffer or will suffer from it need to understand it's nothing to be ashamed of. They need to seek help before they reach a crisis point so if you are struggling or know someone who is, reach out, get them to reach out and get help.
Thanks for reading now lets put a random photograph of a sunny summers day to leave you with happy thoughts.
It is a very serious issue. I've dealt with it pretty extensively but here's not the time or place for that story.
I hope your wife gets better. It sounds like she's on the up and up already. Glad to have found you here :)
Thanks, the lithium poisoning has left her pretty worn out so just waiting on the effects to wear off over the coming days.
I hope Mrs alienbutt will recover faster and she will return back to home. Your response is very appreciated in your other post. so I just upvoted you and I also follow you to get your next post.
Thank you.
May God give long life to madam
Thank you.
I have a great deal of admiration for your courage in not only dealing with being a carer while coping with your own health issues, but also in bringing the reality of mental health to the forefront to inform others of issues that are widespread and important to our lives. Thank you. As always, keeping you and yours in my thoughts daily.
Dealing with it all has just become a way of life, an uninvited guest who we have to live with.
