Is your pistol a Taurus Judge or the Smith & Wesson?
I see you're shooting the 45 Colt loads in it, have you tried the .410 shells yet?
Good shooting form, by the way!

I've shot both in a 3" Taurus Judge and was unimpressed with the .410 shot shells. It's been a while but I want to say I used buckshot at 5-7yrds shooting melons. I could have done better throwing the Judge at the melons.
I can understand your lack of enthusiasm with the .410 buckshot loads. There is either 3 or 4 pellets depending on the load, and the pattern is horrible from a short barrel. Somebody makes a multi disk defence load in .410 for the Judge, and those are somewhat better. The .45 Colt cowboy loads probably are the most effective for large targets. For snakes, the .410 birdshot shells work pretty well. I'm partial to #6 shot loads, but #7-1/2 shot would probably work well enough also.
Ya, I should have tried some bird shot. We live in the mountains now and would have probably stick to the 45 LC. I don't have the Judge anymore and either carry a 12ga or my 1911.
You can't go wrong with a 12 gauge! With a slug, it'll make a big hole in a bear if you had to.
Hopefully it want ever come to that but you know the saying, I'd rather have it and not need it...
