Sultan Iskandar Muda Meukuta Alam Syah, son of Sultan Alauddin Mansur Shah, son of Sultan Abdul Jalil, son of Sultan 'Alaiddin Ri'ayat Syah Al-Kahhar (1539-1571). In the following periods, his father's descendants were known as the descendants of the King of the Crown of Nature ...
In the 17th century the Sultanate of Aceh Darussalam under the leadership of Sultan Iskandar Muda experienced a golden period and was included as one of the superpowers in the world, especially in the Malacca Strait. Behind a man's success there are always women behind the scenes. For Sultan Iskandar Muda, the woman behind the scenes was her consort named Puteri Pahang (Princess Kamaliah) who in Aceh is better known as Putroe Phang. The introduction of Sultan Iskandar Muda with the Princess of Pahang began when Aceh Darussalam succeeded in conquering Pahang. At the same time, the Pahang palace family together with around 10,000 residents immigrated to Aceh to strengthen Sultan Iskandar Muda's troops.
Sultan Iskandar Muda was apparently interested in a daughter from Pahang named Princess Kamaliah. Princess Kamaliah was later married to Sultan Iskandar Muda and was appointed queen. Because Princess Kamaliah came from Pahang, the people of Aceh called her Putroe Phang. Princess Kamaliah is famous for being smart and wise in deciding the problems faced by the people of Aceh Darussalam. One day, there was a case of the distribution of inheritance with two heirs namely a daughter and a son. As for the assets which are the object of distribution are rice fields and houses. It was decided that the daughter got the rice field while the son got the house. The girl did not accept the decision and made an appeal. Hearing the case, Putroe Phang immediately responded and defended the woman with the argument that women do not have a home and cannot live in meunasa (prayer room) while boys can live in the musola. Therefore, those who deserve a house are women while those who deserve to receive rice fields are boys. Putroe Phang's argument was later approved by Sultan Iskandar Muda.
Since then, Princess Kamaliah, better known by the people of Aceh as Putroe Phang, has become a reference in solving legal problems. The brave, courageous and fair cooperation of Sultan Iskandar Muda with the wise Empress Putroe Phang and always defending the weak people, especially women and the papahs, brought Aceh's glory to its golden age. Besides Empress Putroe Phang who contributed to the development of Aceh Darussalam, there were also several government institutions. Balai Sari and Balai Gading are still a group of executive institutions, while the Balai Balai Majelis Rakyat is included in a group of legislative institutions.
These institutions were officially formed on 12 Rabiul Awal 1042 (1633) and written in a law called the Qanun Al-Asyi Darussalam. One day Sultan Pahang together with his empress named Princess Jamaliah (Putroe Phang) faced Sultan Iskandar Muda and in the meeting Sultan Pahang named Raja Abdullah (Raja Raden) said he knew of Iskandar Muda's sacred intention of conquering his kingdom in order to fight for religion and rid Malay territory from imperialism.
