On my way home today, I boarded a mini bus along side other passengers. Few mins after I boarded, a blind man boarded the bus and got talking. He wasn't asking for financial help just talking about general stuffs like the World Cup, Election and all.
Three junctions away from where the blind man boarded, another man who according to him had an accident that crippled him came to ask for money. He started begging passengers from the front until his gaze fell on the blind man. It didn't take a minute to recognize the new look he had on his face.... it was shame. The fact that the man wasn't doing the same thing he was doing could have been responsible for that.
Two persons with similar messed up life circumstances but different mindset.
One decided he couldn't do anything other than make people feel sorry for him and give him money, the other decided to do the exact opposite.
We are humans and life happens to us all. We wake up some days feeling full of life, ready to hit the gym, go on a road trip or do something really productive. Other days we just want to stay in bed and feel sorry for ourselves...I think this is okay once in a while but it becomes a problem when it starts being a part of our lives.
No matter how low you feel sometimes or how badly you feel life's treating you, there are people praying and hoping to be in your shoes. There also are others in the same position as yours making the best out of it.
So what's it gonna be? You going to let your life suck and be full of pity or you going to make the most of life?

Loved how you put this one. There's only two sides to a coin toss. When life and chance happens, we can only hope to get up and try to figure out how to go about it. If nothing can be done, life should go on. There's no point throwing a pity-party. The blind man, who IMHO, has it worse than the lame kept his cool.
