From my observation, people who have many friends have very low standards for themselves and consequently for others too. For example, if you’re a loud-mouthed sheep who listens to pop and disco and follows the mainstream media, then you’ll get on smoothly with the bulk of the population. If you’re more selective, then not so.
Objectively speaking, neither side is right or wrong though, the differences being part of who we are as society.
